Green Finance in the Latin America and Caribbean banking sector: are green the banks in the region ? – Temporaly Suspended

    Resumen:

    An approach will be made to the barriers and opportunities that banks perceive to promote green finance in the region, seen from four main areas: (i) environmental risk management; (ii) eco-efficiency within financial institutions; (iii) green products and services; and (iv) Strategic commitment to green finance.

    Acerca del expositor:

    Marcela Ponce has worked with IFC since 2009, where she currently leads the Climate Finance program for the banking sector in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and coordinates the Sustainable Banking Network for LAC. He has more than 15 years of experience in sustainability in LAC and Europe, supporting financial entities in the development of sustainable businesses, governments in the definition of regulatory frameworks that promote sustainability, and in the planning and construction of Zero Carbon real estate developments. Marcela holds a Master's degree in Business Administration, a degree in Climate Change: Economics and Governance and in Financial Management of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Projects, and is currently a candidate for the Master's Degree in Leadership in Sustainability at the University of Cambridge.
